2010 Event

The Chamber has booked Lombardo's for Friday, March 26, as we 'Dance With Our Stars'.
Tickets are available at Fitness Unlimited, the Milton Times, Grono & Christie Jewelers and other Chamber members.

The Chamber met September 16 at Abby Park as the guests of Vance Welch. The issue of parking was the focal point of the meeting. Two votes denoting the frustration of the group were unanimous.

Wrapping Up Events

The 2nd annual LifeStyle Event took place last March at Lombardo's in Randolph. The show created a focus that highlighted the many facets of the community.

Of course there was information about the business community. There was also a spotlight on the Fuller Village Chorus and an independent string quartet from Milton High.

Jonathan Hall, Channel 7 Investigative Reporter, and his wife, Karen Marinella Hall, hosted the program. Chamber President Nancy Jesson introduced the couple.

In May at the Chamber meeting members approved plans for the 2010 event. President Nancy Jesson suggested a 'Dance with the Stars' theme.

Holiday Lighting Planned for Dec. 5

A holiday stroll is being added to the annual holiday tree lighting in East Milton Square.

The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, on deck in East Milton. Carollers from Milton High School will lead members of the Kiwanis Club and others in songs of the season.

Santa Claus is expected.

M. Joseph Manning will flip the switch on the Christmas tree on the deck that bears his name.

The stroll will continue from 4 to 6 p.m. A flier with a list of stores participating along with the items that will be given away will available on the deck at the time of the tree lighting. Adams Street from the post office to Granite Avenue will be closed for several hours.

The event is sponsored by the Milton Chamber of Commerce, the Milton Department of Public Works, and other town groups. Al Thomas of the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home is sponsoring the holiday lights in conjunction with the town.

Parking Issues

The Chamber continues to work on parking problems in all business districts.

Two officers of the Chamber, Nancy Jesson and Meryl Manin, were recently reappointed to the town's Business Advisory Committee. The committee has met four times in the past year. Much discussion at the November meeting revolved around the town's lack of movement on using the federal money that was allocated nearly five years ago for the East Milton parking solution.
